Attendance at quarterly meetings
Members are welcome to attend the quarterly association meetings. Meeting dates will be listed on the SASA website. These meetings provide a platform for members to get involved, raise queries, offer ideas and network with the committee and other members.
Arboriculture industry affiliation
Members will be recognised as being affiliated with South Australia’s leading arboricultural group who promote ethical arboricultural practices.
Educational field trips and workshops
The Society will provide regular educational field trips and workshops that will cover a wide range of industry related subjects such as urban tree management, trees and development (protection of trees on development sites), trees and the law (legislation), habitat creation and preservation, tree risk assessment, veteran tree management and tree and fungi identification throughout the membership year. Tickets to these events will be offered to members at a heavily discounted rate.
Inclusion on membership listing available to the public
Inclusion on our members list that is available to the general public on the SASA website. This will include a SASA preferred consultants and contractors list.
Members will be provided with the SASA logo in digital format for the member to use on their company website during the membership year.
Member profile in e-newsletter
The Society will distribute regular e-newsletters to all members in which each member will be provided with an opportunity to have a company/personal profile included (1 profile per membership year).
Networking with industry colleagues
The Society will host a number of social functions throughout the membership year. Tickets to these events will be offered to members at a heavily discounted rate.
Opportunity to provide articles for the e-newsletters
The Society will distribute regular e-newsletters to all members in which each member will be provided with an opportunity to contribute articles of industry related topics (up to 3 articles per membership year).
Regular e-newsletters and industry updates
The Society will distribute regular e-newsletters and updates to all members that will feature industry specific news such as updates on new tree pest alerts, changes to relevant legislation, new tree equipment (machinery/climbing gear etc.), relevant case law and other information of interest to our members.
Tree Climbing Championships
The Tree Climbing Championships (TCC) will be held towards the end of 2015. This is a great networking opportunity and a fantastic way to showcase your tree climbing skills in a competitive environment while having a fun filled family oriented day. It is also a great opportunity for companies to promote the skills of their staff. The top competitors are invited and sponsored by the SASA to represent South Australia at the National Tree Climbing Championship.
NB: Competitors must be a current financial member of the Society to enter the TCC.
Any financial member present at any meeting may move, second or vote on any suggestion or topic that is debated. Each member of the Society is entitled to one (1) vote.
